TODAY: Monster Blues, Plenty of Bass In Bay…
Ran recon this morning on the bay with Roger & Chloe. We found fall stripers on top-water in four of my spots. We also found monster blues to 38″ inches – in two and half feet of water!!! Amazing action on light tackle gear! I may be wrong, but I think the fish are on the feed with the low pressure STORM on the way up the coast. We could get a good hurricane out of this (?) and the fish seem to sense it. Several acres of bass were working under birds, and many schools of fish with no birds. There is a lot of bait in the bay of various sizes and the bass and blues are on it. We boated five keeper stripers just 28″ inches but saw what looked like forty inch stripers on top-water but never landed one. The blues however, were big – up to 38 inches. These are monster blues inside the bay. They are not here in great numbers – only a handful. But boy, are they fun! “Fight Harder, Taste Better!” I love them on the grill and Roger loves to smoke them.
Back out in the morning with my charters. A full report to follow. WATCH THE HURRICANE UPDATES!!!
