STRIPER BLITZ IN FOG – Bass to 41″ Inches!

TUESDAY, AUGUST 17th
TODAY: Dense Fog, High Tide, Clearing Storm = Top-Water Striper Blitz…!!!
On board today, I had repeat clients Rolando Jeeter, Dr. Play, and his son for some light tackle striped bass and blues fishing. We barely got out of the harbor and there was a major striper blitz in dense fog over Captain’s Flat. We pulled into an acre of birds and breaking fish and first cast of the morning: Keepah! It only got better from there. Dr. Play starting throwing top-water plugs and Keepah #2 comes aboard. Then, Rolando’s bubble gum sluggo with a jig weight gets hit hard. BIG FISH takes line… Five minutes later, Rolando is still fighting the fish in seven feet of water! Rolondo says, “Capt. Dave this is a big fish…” We all stop and watch him fight the fish and walk it around the boat. Rolando has been fishing with BAYMEN for six years and he has landed a 38″ and a 40″ with Capt. Dave on light tackle. He thinks this one is bigger…! The fish finally gets near the boat and we all get a look: BIG, WIDE FISH on the bubble gum. A few more runs and we get the big fish into the the net and hoist is aboard: a 41″ Inch Cow on light tackle!!! All in all, we boated a bunch of bass this morning with three keepers in the mix. The best fishing was in the dense fog, all on top-water sight fishing.
