BAYMEN TROUT CLUB 2018: Anglers Wanted!

First Camp Dates: April 20, 21, 22.

Who remembers the Baymen Oufitters Thursday Night Fishing Club? For seven years I hosted this wonderful club weekly, during the striped bass fishing season. We had over seventy-five members, and 15-30 anglers showed up every Thursday night to join in the fun: an evening of fishing, camaraderie, and pizza back at the shop afterwards. Many more anglers just loved hanging out at the shop to hear all of the great stories of the evening’s fishing. It was one of the things I missed most when I closed the bait, tackle and fly shop to dedicate all my time and life to guiding.

Well, I have got GREAT news! I am starting up a brand new club held on weekends at Tranquillity – my hunting, fishing and family vacation camp in Vermont! And I want everyone to get in on it!

Here is how it works: The first Trout Camp will be help on the weekend of April 20, 21 and 22. That’s a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Drive up to my camp on Friday after work (or take the day off an arrive anytime Friday), spend the weekend fly fishing for trout, and head back home on Sunday refreshed, happy and looking forward to the next Baymen Trout Camp Weekend!

THE CAMP: Tranquillity is in the rural mountains of central Vermont, 3 hours north of Boston off route 89. Wicked easy to get to. The camp has all the comforts of home. It has ten beds (first come, first served) and can sleep 12 people, if you include the two couches. If we have more anglers, they can bring a sleeping bag and sleep on the carpeted floor in front of the fire. (See the FB link at the bottom of this page for photos of the camp)

THE TROUT WATER: Tranquillity is smack dab in the middle of prime trout water on the White River. There are three main branches of this river and a variety of trout fishing opportunity a stones throw from camp (the river is one mile down the back road). There are also four covered bridges in nearby Tunbridge, offering a unique fishing experience in an old-time classic Vermont setting. There are many pools and cuts all along the White River offering dry fly, streamer and nymph fishing at its finest. Browns, Brookies and Rainbows. ALL WADEABLE  WATERS. Also, there is a top trout guide in town offering float trips named Matt Stedina. I have fished with him and highly recommend him if anyone wants to book him. His website is VT Trout Bum.

THE COST: Baymen Trout Camps are $150 per person, and includes two nights, three days stay at my camp. Food and beverage are not included or provided. There are delis, general stores, pizza and sub shops and several restaurants in the area. There is also a local farm that offers a seat at their dinner table each evening and has some of the finest, home-cooked meals you will ever enjoy. They also offer a hardy breakfast. And they just happen to be on a lovely stretch of trout water.

RESERVE YOUR SPOT: at our first ever BAYMEN Trout Camp on April 20,21,22. Checks only payable to: Baymen Guide Service, Inc. P.O. Box 366, Duxbury, MA 02331.
