The first day of Spring is only four weeks away..!!!

Swans are already nesting and soon spring peepers will be singing in the swamps. Then, the first dandy lions will appear and the first striped bass of the year will began to appear in our bay here on the Massachusetts coast!

Our spring season is booked almost solid with two days still open the end of June. We have plenty of summer-time fishing dates open and about half or our fall dates are still available.

If you’d like to spend a half-day of fishing on the bay this season,  give Baymen a call and book up a date. We offer wonderful mornings on the bay, supply all tackle, and average about fifteen fish per trip.

It feels like Spring and soon the fish will be returning to our bay for the season. Time to think about fishing and book a trip with Baymen!

Capt. Dave & The Baymen have officially kicked off the 2012 freshwater “spring” guide season here on Massachusetts South Shore and Cape Cod!

Join Capt. Dave for excellent freshwater spring fishing for trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and gators (big pickerel). We fish freshwaters all over zone 11 and supply all the rods and tackle. We guide from small skiffs and also canoes and fish the smaller pocket waters often overlooked by the big bass boat crowds. Traveling Art Show Curator

Baymen Guide Service, Inc. & Baymen Productions has an opening for a traveling art show Curator/Coordinator. Curator will work directly with us to produce “Baymen Life,” a traveling art show depicting the outdoors lifestyle of The Baymen, how they make their living, and their way of life up and down the bays of the Massachusetts coast.

Curator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*Working with post production to produce large-format prints and videos from existing files

*Producing collateral support materials about the exhibit, Baymen Guide Service, Inc. & Baymen Productions

*Research and secure exhibit locations throughout New England and Metropolitan cities in the United States

*Research and secure public and private sponsors for the traveling exhibit, create sponsorship benefits packages

*Set-up traveling exhibt(s), market and host opening receptions, take down exhibit(s), move to next location(s) and set up for new shows

*Promote Baymen Guide Service, Inc, & Baymen Productions through events, social media, direct mail, press releases, articles, photo essays in local, regional, and national media.

Candidate must be a relentless self-starter, be able to focus on a mission, and be committed to success. You must love art, people, culture, the New England coast, fishing, hunting, fowling, clamming, boating, American history, and the great outdoors. You must be extremely organized, efficient, and have excellent sales and promotion abilities and a passion for sharing our way of life with others.

Baymen has just three dates left for June charters on the Massachusetts coast: June 23,28,30. These are half-day trips leaving at sunrise and returning six hours later. We will be after striped bass and all tackle is provided. Fly fish, light tackle, or bait. Trips are available for up to four anglers.

Mid-fifties today here on the Massachusetts coast. Feels more like early May – striper season…! It won’t be long now. We are starting to mark off the days on our calendar in preparation to a great season on the water. I have been getting reports of decent trout and largemouth bass fishing in the ponds on the South Shore. I am almost tempted to close up the office today and go…!

DATES TO REMEMBER

February 10,11,12 – Capt. Dave & The Baymen will be attending the Worcester show. Catch us if you see us walking around. We don’t have a booth this year but know a lot of people that do!

March 3 & 4 – Capt. Dave & The Baymen will be at Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro, MA. Stop by and say hello and talk fishing with Capt. Dave & The Crew

March 24 & 25 – Capt. Dave & The Baymen will be at the Mass Bass show in Plymouth, MA. Stop by and say hi and talk fishing with Capt. Dave & The Crew

(HINT: If you are still looking for a charter, ask for a business card at one of the shows we are at and be sure to turn it over and see what’s on the back…!!!)

Hard to believe, but we will start our early season trout fishing in 30 days. I would love to have the pleasure of guiding you for fly or light tackle trout this spring before the stripers arrive. Also, I offer some great guided trips for largemouth bass. And of course, we will be on the hunt for stripers May through October. And for the turkey hunter, don’t miss the spring gobbler season for gun or bow. Baymen offers guided hunts for Toms.

Lastly, late season goose is on until February 15th. If you want to go, give us a call.
