10 Stripers, 2 Keepers Today
On board, I had first-time clients, Bob Felts & Co. from MA & NC. It was lovely on the bay at sunrise, it was almost like September weather. As far as fish went, we found small, scattered pods of striped bass in Duxbury, Kingston, and Plymouth. Some on top-water, some down below. The were very skittish, popping up like popcorn for ten seconds and then going down, only to appear a hundred yards away for another ten seconds. We fished the first half of the morning on light tackle. Then, we switched over to chunk bait. We found a honey hole filled with stripers and had about ten runs in six drifts. All good fish. We ended a great morning with 10 fish and 2 keepers and had a lot of fun chasing the fish!

New Pending World-Record Striped Bass Landed In CT.

Mid-Afternoon Top-water Striper Blitz
Just got in flying the Massachusetts salt coast – Big top-water striped bass in the bay. I used a TFO 8wt with a RIO floating Bass Bug line and a white/red Rainies cork popper. INTENSE!!! Great runs right into the backing…! LB used a Stan Gibbs 2 oz. penicl popper in white and they slammed it. Kept two dinner fish, set the rest free.
